Artist Comment:
This is a study for a cloud painting, with the intention of painting more of these as a style. I am also trying here to develop my ability to paint a high key painting with mid tones as the secondary tone. I have also never really successfully painted a city skyline or cityscape, so that is also a challenge with this painting. The painting is in first coloring layer at the time of this writing. Of course I have to use Venetian red for the roofs, because it's Venice. The composition is a bit sparse, even with the cast shadows and cloud shadows that I did not include in the drawing, so I added a few more details.
