Description: Three tired divers are re-ascending to Heaven. They stop to open their lockers and put on their angel clothes. One diver is already dressed and waits for a friend, closing her eyes and thinking of distant memories.

Artist Comment: Here I was aiming for a static, restful composition to suit the mood. The central figure is consciously studied from Ingres. The two cupids above represent either angels or extraterrestrials. This is photographed unvarnished, and as usual, the photograph does not render the actual painting very well. I did try to overstate the blue scrapes and scumbles across the lower marble surface, as far as I dared, struggling to get more color into my sky environment paintings.
