With Sylvia At Smith
Description: Two college angels discuss a book in front of the Gilette House at Smith College, where Sylvia Plath graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, earning summa cum laude honors. A third angel appears to be following footprints towards a lighted gap in yonder hedge, where two more angels wait wearing graduation caps.

Artist Comment: I have been a fan of Sylvia Plath since I read the Bell Jar in college. I believe I had a picture of Sylvia on my college dorm room door for a while. She was a creative hero for me. This painting has symbolism of death, and is technically constructed well with dominant green and submissive brick red, but otherwise it struggles to achieve a lot of gravitas or excellence worthy of Sylvia.
